Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Tahsin ("Application," "we," "us") handles your information. Tahsin is a free iOS app for Quran reading, recitation, prayer times, and daily worship — created by Nugi Nuryanto G ("Service Provider"). We built Tahsin with privacy as a default: your data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account.

1. Information We Collect

Tahsin does not operate its own server or database. Here is what the Application stores and where:

• Apple Account (optional). If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email from Apple. This is stored locally on your device and synced to your other Apple devices via iCloud. We never see your Apple ID password.
• Profile data. Your display name and profile photo are stored on-device and synced via iCloud. Your photo is compressed before storage. Only you can access your iCloud data.
• Reading activity. Bookmarks, last-read position, reading streak, and murottal favorites are stored locally and synced via iCloud. This data never leaves Apple's infrastructure unless you explicitly connect a Quran Foundation account (see Section 4).
• Location (optional). We request your location only to calculate prayer times and the qibla direction. This is processed on-device and never sent to any external server.
• Downloaded audio. Recitation audio files you download are saved locally in your device's cache for offline playback. They are sourced from third-party recitation providers and are never uploaded anywhere.
• Device diagnostics. Basic system information (iOS version, device model) may be used locally for debugging. This is never linked to your identity or sent to us.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect IP addresses or track your usage on any server we own.
• We do not use advertising networks or sell your data to anyone.
• We do not use third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Firebase.
• The on-device AI verse search feature (iOS 26+) runs entirely on your device — no data leaves it.

3. Cookies

The Application does not use cookies. This Privacy Policy applies to the iOS app only, not to any website.

4. Quran Foundation Integration (Optional)

You may optionally connect a Quran Foundation account from Settings → Account. When connected, the Application sends your daily reading activity (time spent reading, streak data) to the Quran Foundation API so your progress syncs across devices. This uses OAuth2 authentication. You can disconnect at any time from the same screen. Quran Foundation's privacy practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy.

5. Third-Party Services

The Application works with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policy:

• Apple — iCloud sync, Sign in with Apple
• Quran Foundation — optional reading activity sync (only when you connect)

6. Children's Privacy

Tahsin is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for all ages. The Application does not knowingly collect personal information from any user. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise their children's use of the Application. If you believe your child has submitted personal information through the Application, contact us at nughie28@gmail.com and we will address it promptly.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All reading data, bookmarks, and profile information can be fully deleted by uninstalling the Application or signing out of your Apple ID. To request deletion of any data associated with your account, email nughie28@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

8. Security

OAuth tokens for connected accounts are stored in the iOS Keychain, which is encrypted by the operating system. iCloud data is protected by Apple's security infrastructure. We do not store your data on any external server, which limits the attack surface significantly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version. Continued use of the Application after updates are posted means you accept the revised policy.
